What does Melton charge?
A flat sourcing fee, normally $1,000 to $1,500 per order, set by the size of your order. It is not a percentage of your order, and we confirm the exact fee in writing.
When do I pay the fee?
In two halves. The first 50% is due when we show you a better quote with evidence, the supplier's quote, whether or not you go ahead. The second 50% is due when you lock the order with the supplier. Sending your quote for comparison is free.
What if you can't beat my quote?
Then you pay no sourcing fee. If we can't beat the quote you send us on the same specification, there is no fee.
How do I pay the supplier?
Directly. You buy in your company's name at factory price, with no markup, and pay the supplier on the terms you agree with them. Melton is not involved in that payment.
Do you check the goods?
Yes. We get samples and photos for your approval before you order, and we help with quality assurance and inspection before the goods ship. Once you are working direct with the supplier, we can keep helping with communication.
What if goods arrive damaged?
We inspect goods before they ship. Melton is not liable for damage to goods on arrival.
Who handles freight and customs?
We help you arrange a freight forwarder and a customs broker for your order. They are independent firms, not part of Melton.
How long does it take?
It depends on the product and the order. Our goal is always as fast as possible. Once we see your quote, we tell you what we still need from you.
Is quality from Turkey and China reliable?
Quality varies by factory, which is why we price the exact specification you already have, get samples and photos for your approval, and inspect goods before they ship.
What about import duties?
Before you order, we check the product's tariff classification and any anti-dumping measures or surtaxes, and set out the duties and import costs you should plan for. The exact duty depends on the product, its origin and the trade measures in force when it is imported.
Is my project too small?
No. Any project size, from one room to a full build. One line item is enough to start.
